The night of the dead and the wailer's cat
Empty fields where the bastard spawns his brat

Horse-whipped weals stung in the flyhouse
Baltic teeth sunk in saltwater flats

Open wounds which never heal
My balance made up; the instability is real

Noisy smells and cruel marsh sounds
I'll rent my brother to the hounds
Pushing our way through the jungle of means
Why is nothing ever what it seems

Calm now child be strong, take courage
Release the dancegirls from their cages
Change the dirge to a timeless adage
Safe within the rock of ages
Memories grim will fade in time
Disparate thoughts will come to rhyme
Stark colours fade to a restful grey
